Introduction
The L-23 Super Blanik is a modern
refinement of the clasic L-13 Blanik trainer manufactured by LET of Czechoslovakia.
Over 3,000 L-13's were produced since 1958, and most are still in service, making it one of the most successful glider trainers in history. The L-23 features a number of improvements on the original design, including a T-tail, better visibility and improved pilot comfort. The L-23 Super Blanik was chosen by the U.S. Air Force Academy to replace their ageing fleet of 2-33 trainers.
Not to be confused with the popular Manolo Blahnik line of shoes.
