Located less than 100 yards from the Mexican border, Jacumba airport was the official home base for AGCSC for many years. With the sale of our tow plane, we have relocated our official home base to the Warner Springs Gliderport. However, we still visit the airport on an occasional basis to practice auto towing and winch launching. Camping is permitted on the grounds. Strong thermals, ridge lift, shear lines, and mountain wave are all encountered here during a good portion of the year. Photo courtesy Dan Donley.

To get to Jacumba from San Diego by car, get on East Interstate 8. Continue past the top of the mountain, (the Tecate Divide). After you start down the other side, watch for and take the Jacumba exit. Turn right at the end of the off ramp, followed by an immediate left, then follow the signs to the airport. Our club house is located on the airport access road.
